Here’s a list of basic home maintenance tasks we perform:
- HVAC System: Change air filters regularly (usually every 1-3 months), clean vents and ducts annually, and schedule professional maintenance as needed.
- Plumbing: Check for leaks in faucets, toilets, and pipes regularly. Insulate exposed pipes in colder climates to prevent freezing.
- Electrical System: Test and replace smoke detector batteries annually, inspect outlets and cords for damage, and schedule professional electrical inspections periodically.
- Roof and Gutters: Inspect the roof for damaged or missing shingles, clean gutters and downspouts regularly to prevent clogging and water damage.
- Exterior Maintenance: Seal gaps and cracks in windows, doors, and siding to prevent drafts and water intrusion. Trim trees and shrubs away from the house to prevent damage and pests.
- Interior Maintenance: Check for signs of moisture or mold in basements and attics, inspect for pests, and monitor the condition of flooring and walls.
- Appliances: Clean refrigerator coils, check dishwasher and washing machine hoses for leaks, and inspect dryer vents for lint buildup.
- Safety Devices: Test carbon monoxide and smoke detectors monthly, and replace batteries annually.
- Landscaping: Maintain lawn care, trim bushes and trees away from structures, and remove dead vegetation to reduce fire hazards.
- General Cleaning: Regularly clean surfaces, floors, and carpets to maintain a healthy living environment and prevent deterioration.
